This teaching unit in English offers, through diverse examples borrowing from the field of human health, animal or plant, conferences on the interactions between pathogens and their hosts. The lectures will illustrate different levels of infectiology studies.
Taking into consideration the possible therapeutic impacts, the main themes will concern:
- the interactions or exchanges of genetic material between the genomes of the host and the microbe, the modalities of the transition to chronicity / latency of pathogenic agents, the impact of pathogens on regulation by microRNAs or vice versa, networks of molecular interactions that affect in various ways the effectiveness of immune responses at the molecular level.
- the detection of infectious danger, survival and apoptosis at the cellular level
- the integration of the danger signal by the immune system, the regulation of integrated responses and memory at the physiological level
- The conditions of an epidemic: characteristics and limitations of immune systems, choice of therapeutic strategies for intervention on the immune system at the population level.
Speakers:
Immunology teaching team from the University of Lyon, FST-Department of Biology and invited speakers on the basis of their notoriety.
